Precious little boy

Today, I woke up from a nap to find my little brother playing some games on my phone. A few hours later I come to find he had deleted all 500 pictures from my trip to Europe last month. He needed more space to download the games. Mom says he's too young to understand what he did wrong. He's 14. FML

What a dick, wait till he goes on a trip and takes pictures then take your revenge.

Yikes. Maybe see if there's any sort of recovery software for phones? Should back up ASAP (phones can corrupt and lose things) and lock your phone in future.

Get your revenge by subtlety manipulating him into trouble, and when your mom goes to ground him say, "he's too young to know any better mom."

First why don't you have a passcode on your phone. And you need to beat his butt because he knew dang well what he was doing. And I would shock my mom in a way to let her know I'm not playing and she isn't going to keep making excuses for him. Maybe you beating him up with be enough of a shock.

Calm down there just take a deep breathe

I am calm. But he clearly needs some discipline and he isn't getting it from his mother and probably not from his father if they have one. So the only way to deal with him and prevent this from happening again is taking matter into your own hands and that's by beating him up or doing something drastic so he learns not to do it again or to think heavily before doing it again. He knew damn well that all 500 picture had sentimental value if she took 500 of them and had them stored. He also didn't have to delete them all but yet he did anyways which shows lack of respect and lack of empathy and to some extent maliciousness. So the same should be done with his stuff or a physical beating.

Sell his Games Console because you need that $200 for your wallet, if he bitches say he's too young to understand why you need the money. Or just beat his ass

An ass beating sounds like the right plan

I have a question why leave your expensive phone out? Yes he's 14 and knows better that's something a lot of younger people use to avoid responsibility. By 14 you grew up in a time never knowing life with out the internet chances are you knew what you were doing, bust just didn't care.

You did not deserve ALL that harsh dick move your brother committed. But u slightly deserve it for not keeping your phone out of reach, locking it with a passcode, and backing up all your pics to your computer.

It's true that I wouldn't advise leaving your phone out or letting your brother have access to it. But I'm sure OP's first thought wasn't "Oh I sure hope my brother does delete my 500 pictures I took in Europe."

I'm sorry but your mother is an idiot and apparently going to make an idiot out of your brother too.

I CANNOT STAND mothers (and fathers) who give that excuse. At 14 you know right from wrong unless you are mentally challenged. There is NO excuse for using something that doesn't belong to you and there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for deleting/throwing away something that is not yours. (That goes for parents as well, gameboy is not yours) Every time you use that excuse you are simply enabling them to act and do whatever they want. That just makes for really shitty adults. ):

Make it a rule in your house to not touch each other's phone. Everyone needs some privacy.

At least you still have your memories! He can't delete those, and they're priceless!

For some phones they dont enable a passcode lock. i know i used to have a phone that didnt lock, and it didnt have a backup either (like the cloud or onedrive .etc)
