****** dumbass!!!
I can tell you as a nurse, what the patient says is what goes. End of discussion. Your L&D nurse will give you what you want and need and can have your husband forcibly removed if he stands in the way. As someone who has had a baby, the epidural is amazing. Besides, some people HAVE to get one if their baby doesn't tolerate labor and you have to have a c-section to save the baby (like I did). Tell him he can decide what he wants when he is in labor.
I heard its like equal to 20 bones breaking. If that's the case OP, that suxs! congrats and i'm pretty sure you'll make it.
Tell him you do not want him to ever drink anything with alcohol in it ever again - you don't want the baby to see a bad influence.
You have 9 months to gently introduce him to all kinds of options. I heard there are tribes that tie a string around the balls of the father so that the laboring mom can sqeeze them tight according to her own pain level. I am sure your hubby won't object to sharing the experience...
not because your mother had an epidural. Sorry that your mother was an addict but I'm not sure what your point is?
No one can tell you what to do with your body. From experience, I couldn't remember a single thing UNTIL I received the epidural. It was extremely pleasant after I received it and I remember everything from that point on! Being the most special day of my life, I wanted nothing more than to remember it! I will say, if you do get the epidural try and wait as long as you can because once you get it you're confined to your bed! Don't ever let anyone tell you, you're a bad mother, selfish, or less of a woman because you get an epidural! Good luck OP :-)
First of all, he needs to be educated. And secondly, he cannot "forbid" you to do anything... Congrats on bringing a precious life into the world!

He will change his mind when you break his hand going into labor.
He's not the one pushing a baby out of his vag. Tell him it's your choice. And, sometimes doctors really want people to get them, so that they don't pass out from pain.
