Today, I flew in to visit my long distance girlfriend. When I got out of the cab, I saw her way down the street walking the dog, so I hid behind the bushes to scare/surprise her. Mission accomplished. I just wish I hadn't bought her that pepper spray. FML

I call bullshit. In the time it would take her to dig pepper spray out, she would have recognized him. Even if it was in her hand, she had time to recognize him.

She probably did have it in hand. And she probably did recognize her boyfriend, but thought he deserved to be sprayed for being an asshole. While he was writhing on the ground in pain, she should have surprised him with the news that she's pregnant. . . with his brother's baby.

Lol, #23, women pull weapons out very, very fast, I think a lot of them practice in the mirror every morning. Not to mention, long distance, seeing someone in a picture and seeing someone in real life can be very different.

So your girlfriend carries around pepper spray in her hand with her finger on the trigger to automatically spray anyone who touches her...she's either paranoid or this is fake...and if it's real, then be happy that she is prepared to use it as soon as she needs it and that you helped her be prepared.

I think all girls should carry pepper spray ready in hand. You never know who will want to kidnap/rape/kill you these days. No neighborhood is safe.

screw the pepper spray...i have a tazer that i carry around with me on campus. but i don't usually have it ready in hand during the daytime.

actually, it is much safer now then it was in the, say 70's. people are just too paranoid because violence is broadcasted so much more

I once had a nice knife (as in, not a pocket knife, but an actual knife). Dull as hell though, completely useless. I don't go anywhere now though.
