Oh, sweet Orion. I hope you didn't get tapped for clean up duty. Maybe you should bring up putting the freezer on a different electrical system, one attached to a generator. That way it can't get turned off and if the power goes down, you'll have the option to use the generator. Just the idea of that makes my skin crawl. I can't even think of where to bring humor into this.
Oh my god OP. I just threw up in my mouth, a little bit. My mom worked at a vet clinic for years and she always hated that freezer morgue. She always wanted to bury them properly (hard core Catholic) - the ones that no one would claim. Never understood why you wouldn't want to take your pet home to bury. Even if you don't have a large backyard, you could always drive a little bit to a wooded area.
