Today, after having my car's oil changed, I asked the girl at the front desk for her number and she gave it to me, so I was excited all day. That night I texted her and she asked who it was and I told her my name, then she told me she gave her number out to a lot of customers, so she didn’t remember me. FML

So instead of giving creeps a fake number she gives them a real one, but uses it to embarrass them? That'll teach you.

Sometimes you roll all sixes. This was not any such occasion. Keep your chin up, learn from it and be excellent to the people you interact with.

Yeah don't ask people for their number at work like that. She was nice to you because it's her job, not because she liked you.

you might as well try to start stalking her home now. she's working, what did you think was gonna happen? she gets hit on for being polite (actually just doing her job) and you get told the truth, so now you're upset you weren't the first, or the fact you now know that? ask for a real date first nowadays most girls know texts go nowhere (as we see here) or just fluttering around the idea of seeing each other and never executing the plan if you're not ready to ask for a real date right away, then just leave the working girls be
