Today, I rode my bike to work. While biking on the road, I gave a hand signal for turning left. A car passing the opposite way veered towards me and attempted to give me a high five. I now have cuts all over my body and my bike is in two pieces. FML

That totally sucks! More bike riders should use hand signals. They don't have turn-signals on their bike like a car does. I vote its an FYL since the moron driving obviously wasn't paying attention in driver's ed.

Gripes. Hope that moron's paying for that.

That's horrible. Cyclists take so much shit. I'm sorry!!

#3-No, you're the one who deserves it. Hand signals are one of the most basic things you're taught in driver's ed. It's the car driver's fault for not knowing them.

Most of the time when I'm biking I'm going at least 20-25mph...Not really safe to be traveling that fast on the sidewalk is it?

#25, riding on the sidewalk is illegal. and you need to move to the middle of the road to make a left turn anyways. It doesn't have to do with bike lanes at all.

#122, I know it's illegal in California.

Bicyclists irritate me beyond belief. There's no reason to bike on the road, it's a safety hazard to both the biker and the driver. Okay, so straight roads with a MPH of 40 and below is fine, but highways? Really? It's so dangerous trying to swerve around bikers who feel they can ride outside of the line to in the middle of the right lane side by side. Thanks for the High 5 idea! Though I think I'm just going to spank the next biker I see next time I'm riding shotgun :)

OH and to piss you all off even more (talking about how riding on the sidewalk is illegal and impractical), it's much easier to swerve around a person with a bike than a car. Also, there are minor injuries as opposed to the LIFE LONG and/or THREATENING ones.

BAHHAHA. That sucks you were hurt, but that's classic.
