I love how so many people are having troubles envisioning this. You're turning left, a driver in a car coming at you decided to rail you with a monster high five, right? What I want to know is - Did you keep your hand up, nail the high five and bust? OP HAD to be on the left side of the road as he/she was turning LEFT. Woulda been a LOT stupider to try to turn left from the biking lane (if any), as they're usually on the RIGHT side of the road. #144, there can be major injuries if bikes ride on sidewalks too. Unless you expect them to only go 5 mph... When I rode my bike to school, I still used the sidewalk because I didn't feel safe riding where there wasdno bike lane, no one was on the sidewalks, and thorns in some places would give me flat tires.

The only people who are getting pissy at bicyclists are probably fat lards who don't feel like getting a bike of their own. They're good for the environment and healthy for you. Plus it's less likely to cause long-term damage if you run over someone. xD And OP, I hope the bastard at least stopped.
