Today, my best friend whom I have been in love with for years, called me, proposed, and confessed his love for me. He was at a noisy bar so I asked him to call me back later and we'd discuss it. He called back later, hungover, with no recollection of our conversation whatsoever. FML

he probably meant it, most people have more courage to say what they feel when they are drunk. It's unfortunate that he doesn't remember what he said, but he probably meant it

Well he probably just got the courage to tell you because he eas drunk, but couldnt remember he did it. But not remembering doesn't mean it wasn't true. You should bring up your feelings. There's a big chance he'll feel the same

Go for it. He probably took it the wrong way when you didn't immediately tell him you loved him and now he thinks he's screwed up.
