Remember them?

Today, I realized that I will never be able to buy the car I've wanted since middle school. The car? A greyish-silver Volvo, which is the make and color of car Kurt Cobain drove. The reason? I've been informed that it's also the make and color of the car that Edward Cullen drives in Twilight. FML

This twighlite shit is getting out of hand!! R.I.P Kurt D. Cobain

So a fictional character had the same car. Whoop-dee-frickin-doo. If you appreciate the car's resale value, mileage, appearance, and other points you'll still be considering after a year of ownership, BUY IT. Screw the fact that a similar vehicle was mentioned in connection to Fairy-ass Cullen. It's just a CAR, for God's sake! But...aren't you being a bit of a hypocrite, considering buying a car because it's like the one Kurt Cobain drove and shunning it because some fictional vampire drives it in a novel/movie? Just food for thought. ;) PS: Buy a Honda instead. In my experience, they last longer. My mother had a brand-new Volvo three years ago, and it's already scrap metal because it broke down so often. I have a '99 Honda and it's still running fine.

Subarus are nice too. We've got a 96 Impreza outback that's never had any issues.

Ooh, Subarus are pretty reliable. But the dealership around here is soooo friggin' expensive. >_

This FML is just dumb, picking or not picking a vehicle for the reasons listed is nothing short of retarded

My first car was a honda civic ex. They are small but still comfortable with a good resale value. I have the volvo and love it. No problems with it as of yet. It also comes with a shitload of sweet standards and options. Anyways who gives a crap if your friends harp on you for driving a specific vehicle. They are probably driving a piece of shit and secretly jealous of your brand new car.

#99, 110 and 117 are all right. There is not difference between wanting a car because Kurt Cobain drove it and wanting it because Edward Cullen drives it. Not only that, but anyone who wants to emulate either a drug addict who committed suicide or a fictional rapey vampire deserves F their lives X 1,000,000. Seriously I don't care how big of a fan you are buy a car because you like the features and the way it drives. Not because someone else did.

addressing the writer of the fml and #99, there is definitely a difference between wanting a car because a completely real, undeniably legendary culture figure drove one and wanting one because a completely fictional and undeniably stupid vampire wanted one. true, Kurt had a drug problem, but everyone who knows anything about Kurt Cobain knows he didn't commit suicide; Courtney Love murdered the hell out of him. and true, a car should be bought based on it's performance and features and not solely upon who drove the same model. if you truly like the volvo, regardless of who used to or currently drives one, get it. when stupid girls come up to your car and oggle it and talk about Edward, just be like "back the hell up off my car, Edward's stupid" though i'm pretty sure there's a difference between the model of Volvo in the twilight movies (I only saw it in the previews so I may be wrong) and the one Kurt drove. I mean, it has been awhile since Kurt was alive enough to drive and I'm sure Volvo has decided to put out a few new models since then, don't you think? Anyways, do what you want. It's your car and your life. Good luck. PS. I totally agree in the fact that Twilight is a piece of useless garbage and the vampires in that series are like fairies. What kind of vampire sparkles, anyways? That dumb kid should've burst into flames.

FYL for liking Nirvana enough that you would buy a car just because Cobain drove the same one, he really wasn't that great I don't understand how he is "legendary".
