Today, my boyfriend and I were getting intimate in the backseat of his car, when a police car pulled up behind us. My mom later told me that intimacy was fine, just not in a car. We were in the car because she told me that intimacy was fine, just not in her house. FML

Whether or not OPs mom cares is irrelevent as far as OP being old enough. Plenty of parents who care too little when they should, or too much when they shouldn't.

Exactly. Typically when a parent says "It's fine, just not in my house" it means "That's fine if OTHER people do it, but you won't do it in my house". As in, it's fine if other people have sex, but as long as you live with her she doesn't want you having sex.
