talk to the department head or the dean or someone higher up than ur prof
well... rules are rules
That really blows. I'm sure theres gotta be some way that you can stay there
#10, that's really unnecessary. The professor has no right to penalize someone who was in the hospital with life-threatening illness... especially if said professor SAW the student with his own two eyes in the hospital. I hope you feel better, OP!
i was just in a car accident and had a doctors note not to be in school for a week due to injury from the accident. All my professors were cool except for one who won't let me make up any work or hand in any work late. He's also counting my absences against me. So..yeah I guess it happens all the time. It definitely sucks.
omg the 57 douches that think that he/she deserved it are assholes. HOW THE HELL DO YOU DESERVE IT?????
i hope you get better :) and go complain about him .
You can fight that easily. Go to your dean!!! good luck.

I've had similar issues (I miss a lot of class due to illness as well). Go to the dean of students or if your school has a Student Disability Center or something. Rules may be rules but you cannot penalize a student for something that's beyond their control, it's illegal.
Have you tried talking to the dean of students? If anything, you could try to get the class marked as incomplete or dropped (or stricken from the record entirely).
