Not today you don't make different stiffies. Unless.....
I understand that periods are normal for every girl but sometimes the items we use are not small enough to hide in your palms. Not every girl uses tampons so a large pad with a bright pink wrapping may bring more attention than is wanted. He should have enough confidence in himself to at least believe that he can make it through a date. A person that insecure is a total turn off for a lot of women, myself included. I would have asked him why he would ask me to trust him to not steal my belongings, when he cant even trust me to go to the restroom? Then I would have left to go to the restroom to handle business, returned to pay for my portion, and left without another word.
Yup. This is my thought, too. The guy clearly isn't as charming as you thought and, at the worst, he could have been planning on robbing you. As awful as the evening was OP, it's good you found out what he was like on the first date.
He doesn't sound that charming to me! Ah well, it's good that you found out what a jerk he is early in the relationship before he broke your heart I suppose.
So you just didnt take your purse? Weak. Me in the situation: "I NEED SOME GODDAMN PADS"
I would have hit him with it! He may have taken it and dashed if you went without it. Or tell him situation and follow with "guess you're not getting sex tonight....or ever"
He is acting like this already , I'm sorry to tell you, the relationship isn't going anyway, cut your losses, move on
You should've given him a death glare, shown him the tampon/pad and asked him if you could please take your purse to save yourself some embarrassment. Afterwards, pay your half down to the cent and make it clear that you don't want to see his dickish face again.
I like your way of talking about periods. And I hate the awkwardness that comes with them.

If he didn't trust you enough to take your purse to the bathroom, then I suggest you don't go out with him. Afterall, trust is one of the main ingredients to a healthy relationship, isn't it?
As embarassing as it may have been, if you didn't you should have tried to explain to him what was going on. I'm sure he would have understood.
