Selfish

Today, my mom yelled at me because I refused to lend her money. The reason I won't lend her money? The last time I did, she and my dad went out and bought a Macbook and a new car instead of paying bills. Apparently, I'm being 'selfish' by keeping my own money and putting it towards university. FML

When you loan them money, charge interest each day they don't pay you back.

Well it sounds like you'll be going to university soon anyway, so you won't have to deal with them much longer!

1-Actually i believe he was talkin to me...

If she has paid you back the lent money demand it, or take the Mac and car and sell them. Then next time just pay the bills instead of giving her the money. I feel for you OP. FYL.

Wow feel for you for having parents like that, but at least you learned your lesson the first time even if your parents didn't lol

I feel you. It is annoying when parents sometimes take money and don't give it back. But I've never had my parents borrow THAT much money. FYL.

No offense but your parents need to learn to prioritize. I think it's very mature of you to save for your own University and plan ahead. Keep it up. Not lending her money is a good decision anyway. A person who can buy a Macbook and a car can probably afford everything else.

Just tell her she can borrow all the money she wants when you have a successful job and you put her into a retirement home.
