Today, at work, I was talking to a customer. She kept shaking her head "no" at everything I said. I asked what she was disagreeing with. She told me she has Parkinson's Disease, teared up, and asked to speak to my manager. FML

Ouch, sucks fo' you. My great-grandma had that terrible, but it never caused her to shake her head that way. Oh well, you didn't know! I understand her being a bit hurt for the misunderstanding, but no need in talking to the manager about that.

I'm not for nor against this FML. There's two sides to every story. And without the customer's side, or even being there at all, you won't know what actually went down or what tones were used.

the customer could have actually verbally replied, that might have helped avoid confusion??

If she was nodding yes you could have sold her everything in the store! that was just bad luck bro

24 I'm sure 20 was being sarcastic though that doesn't eorknover yhe internet

it's funny how people are flaming 20 for missing a joke when they missed an obvious joke themselves.

wow some of the comments on here are really rude and disrespectful to people with parkinsons. and im really sorry that happened but it isnt your fault. people shouldnt make fun of people with parkinsons either because they cant help it. my papaw had it for 18 years and its was really had for our family. sadly he passed away last month but now he isnt in pain anymore. but i think some people on here should think about what they are saying before they post it

im sorry for your loss :( it really is a terrible disease, it's just completely debillitating and very hard for families to watch a loved one go through that. some people are just ignorant, or completely lacking empathy and understanding :/

Aw, that sucks. That wasn't your fault at all. She should have answered you when you asked her questions - surely she'd have realised by now that people might mistake her tics for disagreeable head-shaking? I don't want to make her out to be purposely deceptive because I'm sure she wasn't, and Parkinson's is a terrible disease to have, but she was kind of rude by asking to speak to your manager when you asked a totally innocent question that she could have prevented by actually answering you.
