Today, my parents came to the restaurant I work at as a waiter. After, I picked up the check to realize they had left me a $500 tip! We split the tips among the employees so I only got $50 back but I was still psyched. When I got home they asked me if I had noticed that they used my credit card. FML

I hope you told them that you had to split the tips. What a waste. they thought they were being clever and wasted all your tip money. Heh. FYL indeed.

seriously, what type of ******* restaurant are you working at? Most restaurants have a policy that YOU keep what YOU earned in tips and tipshare only about $3-$5 for the busboys and bartenders. Your bosses and coworkers are thieves if they take that much money from you.

what the heck is wrong with your parents?! $500(!!!) are not easily replaced they're jerks and completly immature for doing such a thing. OP FYL so sorry that happened to you though... *pathetically smiles* hopefully your co-workers will return the money... good luck! :)

I hope you make them pay you back the 450$+the meal price, i would be pissed if my parents did something like that to me

A percentage to the bussers I can see, but having n waitstaff and splitting tips n ways makes no sense. Yeah, there are days you get stiffed by a big table, but overall the point of tipping is to reward good service and get rid of lousy servers. FYL for having parents who misuse a credit card, and for *not noticing it*. In any case, your parents' apparent generousity should have been made an exception to the split rule in the first place. Remember folks, credit cards are NOT TRANSFERRABLE from one person to another. It doesn't matter that the account holder is your spouse / parent / baby daddy / baby mama / Lesbian life partner / boss / former cellmate. If you want a card in your name, that is between you, the account holder, and the issuing bank. If you are a co-owner of the account, you should have your own card. If you are an authorized user of the account, you should have your own card.

Why would u split the tip? Ur employees didn't have the table, u did. I wouldn't have given them any, chances are they'd do the same thing. Sorry, don't say this often but YDI. Who is so rich they don't mind parting with 500 anyways?

some restaurants do tip share so he probably had to turn it in

where do you work, i live in wv as well

In WV, how often you do invite your cousins/aunts/uncles over for an inbreeding orgy?

Thats stupid that you had to share the tip. You could have a lazy ass co-worker not do shit and make any money in tips, and still get tip money. YDI for leaving your credit card lying around your house.

Even if they didn't know you split the tips that isn't very funny since you pay extra for using credit cards. They better have ****** payed for all of that.
