I agree, you did yourself a favor!!!!!
Dude, chill. You did the right thing. Imagine if she had gotten together with you again and THEN changed your mind. You did the right thing, be proud of yourself.
If she isn't sure she wants to be with you then you deserve better
Hey, OP here! As it turns out, she was thankful I asked, because she didn't want to rush back into a relationship she wasn't sure how she felt about, and we had a good laugh over this FML when she found out it got posted! On another note, we're now actually back together! Since she thought it through, she decided her feelings with me remained the same since before we split, so we're giving the relationship another go! It's been going well so far, and I appreciate all the supportive comments! The only confusing thing is, though, I tried to post this FML as a girl and it made the anon gender male? I don't know how that happens, but this is definitely a girl/girl relationship FML, so...

Hey, now... desiring certainty has little to do with self loathing, it sounds like you wanted some security. That's pretty human, don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend though, FYL
To be perfectly honest what you did may turn out to be a favor to both you and her to avoid future heartbreak. I sympathize, but maybe this will turn out well. Dont get too down about it and try to stay on the bright side
