Side effects

Today, I went to get an HPV vaccine after being convinced to by my mom. I stayed in the waiting room afterwards, because the vaccine has the possible side-effect of causing fainting. I didn't faint; instead, I spent the next 15 minutes giggling uncontrollably like a psycho. FML

I'd much rather giggle like a psycho than faint, personally..

Uncontrollable laughter and no HPV virus...seems like a win win for me!

Gotta be better than getting genital warts zapped off with liquid nitrogen, no fun at all and I wasn't giggling....

When I got my HPV vaccine, I had no side effects. In fact, I wasn't even warned about possible side effects. But i would prefer giggling rather than fainting!

Bravo! One down, two to go. So you get a total of 45 minutes of giggles AND avoid certain cancers. Win-win.

Wow, I thought I was the only one? Maybe it really is a side affect? :O Laughed so much about nothing that I thought they mixed it up with some funnt drug.

U should've played some games with a mic. U can pwn everybody while they get creeped out by constant giggling. Or infatuated if you're a girl

Gardasil is a relatively new drug and it didn't have a very long testing phase and isn't as widespread as one might think (only 1/4 females begin the regimen at all in the US, and not all of those finish), so we don't actually know what all the adverse reactions might be or how common they are. There has been anecdotal evidence that it has severely messed up some people who have taken it, so I'd recommend everyone do their own research and decide if they want to go in for it or not rather than succumbing to societal pressures (nurses and parents and the like). I had the whole regimen and personally developed uterine and cervical problems (cysts and blood clots among other stuff, generally not fun) about a week after each consecutive injection, but we haven't been able to determine whether the two are related or not.

I possibly have an autoimmune disease from getting this vaccine. I'm still going through testing. I got the vaccines when it was fairly new so my mom didn't know there were these horrible side effects. And to OP, I suggest you do some research on this before you get the finally shots.

what disease did you get if you don't mind me asking?

Maybe you just have a needle fetish. I know I do!

You were probably just nervous. Good on you for getting the vaccine!
