Today, I started work as the head engineer for a big civil engineering project. I met the rest of my team, in particular the environmental engineer who I'll need to get along with the most. As it turns out, I took her virginity when we were freshmen in college. She still thinks I'm an asshole. FML

Today, wanting to impress my date, I bullshitted her about how I was an environmental scientist. She got so impressed that she invited me over to her place. Not her home, her office. So that I could give her pointers on her current project. She's a real environmental scientist. FML

I'm hoping this project is NOT excavating a giant, gaping tunnel. Planning meetings are going to be awkward when you ask her how Mother Earth is going to feel when you start pounding a big ol' hole into her.

Why are people voting "YDI"? Is having sex with someone at one point and then breaking up with them later wrong now, or something? Notice the OP didn't say "took her virginity and then dumped her the next day". For all we know, he broke up with her a year after the fact.

This would be the reason why not to sleep with anyone that you're likely to end up working with and who could possibly be your boss in future years. As the only female student in my engineering course, I've decided to stick to dating outside of my course. Otherwise it gets much too messy, and in OP's case can come back and bite you.

Don't know why everyone is saying YDI. There's no reason to assume that just because they both had sex, he's automatically at fault. For all we know she's a psycho who he would have broken up with earlier if he had found out earlier. Holding a grudge for that long would certainly imply that she's more screwed up than he is.

Agreed Pillowinmyface wins at life. But seriously folks, wow this guy had sex in college, with someone who was a virgin before! THAT PRICK! And he didn't marry her?!? CUT HIS DICK OFF! If any of you guys hadn't noticed before, people usually do not want to run into (or much less work with) people they used to have a relationship with.
