Today, I went on a date, the first one I've been on since my last boyfriend broke up with me 6 months ago. We were at a restaurant, and at the end of meal he insisted on paying the bill. He wanted to leave a 15% tip but couldn't work out in his head how much to leave. The bill was for £100. FML

That isn't that bad. Atleast he wasn't making you pay :)

be glad someone spent $100 on a first date for you, when it's just a dinner.

yeah no kidding they must have been boozing it up, no wonder he couldn't do math

People are so unappreciative these days.

Not to be pedantic, but it's £100. But hey that's even more! OP should stop whining about maths fails and be more grateful she has a boyfriend who will spend so much on her!

I don't care how much he spent. I wouldn't want to be around anyone who's too dumb to figure out the world's simplest math.

Whether it's £100 or $100, what's 15% of 100? Doesn't matter what kind of currency,

Damn touch screens. I was gonna say 15% of £100 is £15, and 15% of $100 is $15. The math is the same either way.

You should've crawled out of the bathroom window... Or something.

Just because he didn't know how much the tip would be, you want to ditch him and crawl out of the bathroom window? Not everyone is the brightest.

I'm happy people like you get offended by his simple mistake. your not worth the time or money people like OP's date are willing to offer.

I agree with 25. I'm bad at math. does that make me a less likable person? Maybe by a math teacher, but otherwise, no.

No, not at all, Kykyshay. I am horrible at math, but that doesn't effect who I am as a person whatsoever; and I'm sure it doesn't effect you either. :)

lol ydi hahahahahahahagahahahagagahagaggaga

A generous dumb man, every gold diggers dream. Don´t mess this up by doing something stupid like telling random people on internet what an idiot he is.

Wow, I suck at math hardcore, but damn even I could figure that out quickly. And I'm 3 shots in on the night.

Well, obviously he didn't want to overshadow you with his incredible brilliance. The man, after all, should never be the smartest person in the relationship. You would remember this had you not been single the past six months. Feel free to take notes.

And maybe you are for not using correct grammar while insulting someone else. It should be you're.

I think you're complaining too much. I think it's sweet he insisted on paying and that he spent $100 on you on the first date. He could have been nervous. So stop complaining.

It was actually £100, which is worth even more than $100. So what if he's not good at math, at least he offered to pay for the whole meal!

He was too busy thinking "holy crap, $100!!!...this chick is so putting out tonight!!!"

Just because you buy a girl dinner. Don't expect for her to put out.

Especially if you can't do math tricks. Still though, for that kind of money, it was rude of OP not to offer a Lewinsky.

did I say I would expect it? no. I wouldn't be dumb enough to take you to an expensive place like that.

So he's not a math wiz, to say the LEAST. Or maybe he was REALLY nervous. If you like him, does this really matter? Unless that's how the entire date went, I can't see how this is so bad.
