That's horrible. I hope hd didn't spoil your day and you had a lovely day regardless of your father's comment.
Well, maybe you should consider doing the same next time he invites you to a dinner or something.
Fighting alcohol with alcohol makes huge mistakes
There is a time and place for everything and your wedding is not one of them he should have been more supportive as your father I'm sorry OP but congratulations on the wedding.
Not the best way to show his support, but he still came to your wedding :) Try to enjoy your day, and tell him how you felt about it later.
And the father of the year award goes too....
Not him
My aunt's daughter (so my cousin) hasn't talked to her mom for nearly 2 years because of something similar to this. My aunt never liked her husband so when they got married she acted like a bitch and only attended part of it. I feel bad for my aunt, though, because her daughter moved away and has no connections with her by age 25. I feel like this has to do with something else too but my family never tells me anything. So yeah moral of the story... Shit idk. Sorry for the essay
That's really sad :( I hope that it was just the alcohol making him say things that he didn't really mean. I had a close family member threaten me the other day when he was drunk when he is normally the kindest, most gentle man I know. Sadly, alcohol can be a really big problem for some people. If this is a regular occurrence, he needs to get help. So sorry to hear it happened at what should be a very happy time for you OP.
Wait, you didn't have whiskey inside the wedding? Why not?

That's rude. A dad should be more mindful and respectful, ESPECIALLY at a time like this.
Do the same thing if your invited to his anniversary
