Guys, the reason why she didn't have the stuff is because it never snows in Maryland. Ever. So when we have a snow storm we're always screwed because no one is prepared. So I gotta say I feel for you.
really? last time I checked it snows here every year. maybe not a snow blizzard, but definitely at least some inches. A good enough reason to be prepared. And OP, dont even complain! try going on your third day with no heat, or electricity. sleeping when its sub-freezing temperatures outsided is lovely. I'd be thankful you got power back so fast.
Wow even I wouldn't have walked all the way to a store for 4 miles in a raging blizzard just for a few candles and flashlights. You should have stayed at home where the lights would have eventually came back on. YDI
She also needed a slurpee.
I live in Maryland and what we had was NOT a blizzard. -_-The snow didn't really affect me much though because I'm living on campus. I'm going to say FYL for not having electricity but YDI for walking to get candles. And to the person above who said we don't get much snow, remember Snowmageddon of last year? If anything that should've been a hint to stock up on candles and such. (TBH, a flashlight should be something everyone should always have at home. There really is no excuse. )
Should have been prepared...
Where do you live that they actually close roads for snow? I live in the midwest and anything less than a foot of snow is no reason to even delay school, let alone close the roads. Grow up and get over the snow. Next time drive your car. If I can drive 6 hours across two states averaging 50 mph during a "blizzard" that limited visibility to an 1/8 mile and left 6 inches of snow, then you can drive 4 miles to the store. I don't know that I can truly consider it a blizzard unless there is at least 18 inches of snow. And a "closed road" is typically not barricaded, you could have driven.
YDI for not having a flash light in your home in the first place. YDI for not preparing for the storm before it arrived, or at the very least when it first started if you were not aware a storm was on the way, which seems highly unlikely considering the huge fuss everyone makes about the smallest bit of snow.
