I don't think I saw anyone say that it's a possible danger to local sea life to flush a fish. One fish probably won't hurt, but it's an 'if everyone does it' kind of a thing that leads to the possible danger/diseases/contamination. Better to bury it under a plant. Plants eat that shit up.
Whatever you do, don't open that jar. Just throw it into the nearest ocean and run.
