I feel for you OP. I've never owned a big dog but I have smaller ones. one of my grandmother's small dogs was killed by 2 pitbulls that got off of their chain. we didn't blame the breed, we blame the owner. we didn't make them pay for anything. I love all dogs and don't discriminate any breeds. I hope it didn't cost a fortune and that your dog doesn't have to be put down

That poor dog.... this actually has caused me to lose hope in humanity... everyone posting how the small dog was just a rodent anyways ... no. that was someone's pet. I have a full grown pom that weighs 5 pounds soaking wet, and I would be devestated if a big dog attacked and killed her. so it's ok because it was small?? would you not be devestated if your pet was killed in any way?? this is why I hate 99 percent of the human population. ...

I can't vote either way. I've had both kinds of dogs, even at the same time. I'm sorry for the owner of the small dog, and I'm sorry for the OP. Blame should not be placed on anyone until the OP gives more of the story.

A co-worker's dog was also eaten by a German Shepherd. Her dog was walking with her on a leash. The German Shepherd was in an undenied yard with his owner. He charged for no reason and my neighbor was also bitten trying to save her dog. Two dogs died because one owner didn't use a leash.

That's so horrendous. Poor puppy. :(
