Why the hell weren't you watching your dog?

I chain up both my dogs my neighbours across the road let theirs run free and they're constantly across taunting mine. The little one can't do much damage but my big one could I've just trained him to be considerate. But if mine ever attacked theirs I think it would be justified but I would still feel bad. But it's all about how you train your dog

The speculation that is happening on this post is outrageous. I think it's important for every single person to remember that dogs are animals, and they do not rationalize as humans do. As the owner of a dog who doesn't like other dogs, I sympathize with OP. We can only be in control of our dogs, but when another owner has their dog off leash or let's their dog approach our dogs, it is not our fault when they misbehave. We can only take the necessary precautions to protect our dogs. It is the other dog owners responsibility to also be in control of their dogs. I also sympathize with the owner of the small dog, as I'm sure is was not at all easy to lose a beloved pet. Accidents do happen, and it's unfortunate when someone loses something they love as a result.
