Today, it's my long-anticipated 21st birthday! Today also happens to be the first day of my period. I've spent the whole morning in the fetal position with agonizing cramps, reduced to tears, and whimpering while the painkiller refuses to kick in. Happy birthday! Love, my uterus. FML

Oh goodness, I've had my period (with crippling cramps and nausea) on my birthday pretty much every year since I got my period. It's hell. I know how you feel...it does suck. Oh and #3...I think she means the first day of THIS particular period.

Being a girl myself, closely waiting my 21st birthday and having cramps that feel like I'm going to die... all I have to say is that I'm so sorry that really sucks, hope the rest of the day wasn't horrible

21 years and you still haven't done anything about it? it happens every month... by the way, there's pills you can take.

obviously you don't understand how periods work. some are worse than others (so maybe she was planning on it, but not it being that bad) and if she believes that she can usually make it through her period naturally, more power to her.

Okay, okay. Everyone telling OP to get over herself because it's just her period, learn to understand what you're reading. In fact, let's just take the period out of the equation. That leaves us with crippling pain and a ruined twenty-first birthday. If it makes you feel better, let's change the cause of the pain to stomach ulcers. Or would it be wrong to complain about those as well?

I get horrific cramps that leavene unable to move for hours. I also have been thisclose to a blood transfusion due to lose of blood. periods are sooo not fun.

I know how that feels.. But I was rewarded a couple months after my 21st birthday with kidney failure, and no eligibility for transplant. Believe me, I know menstrual pain, but remember that it can always be worse.. That's how I see things. I could have pancreatic cancer (one of the worst kinds to get), but I don't. Besides, now you can get completely stupid-drunk to drown physical pain. Better than any Aspirin out there.

OMG i am so sorry! I personally dont get that bad of cramps at all mostly because I recently got my first period I just bloat and get reeeeally lazy but on your 21st birthday that sucks ass screw all the guys saying to suck it up feel better!
