Special day

Today, it's my long-anticipated 21st birthday! Today also happens to be the first day of my period. I've spent the whole morning in the fetal position with agonizing cramps, reduced to tears, and whimpering while the painkiller refuses to kick in. Happy birthday! Love, my uterus. FML

Oh honey, I know exactly how you feel. I get them worse than anyone I know. Feel better. =[

Oh goodness, I've had my period (with crippling cramps and nausea) on my birthday pretty much every year since I got my period. It's hell. I know how you feel...it does suck. Oh and #3...I think she means the first day of THIS particular period.

OP, how is that a fml? you have been having periods for at least 7-8 or more years now, just deal with it, yh it sucks and all but do u prefer not to have it at all?!?! what a better present for your 21st than your body giving you a sign that you are healthy and not pregnant :)

Congratulations, welcome to a lifetime of pain. Sincerely; womenhood.

so sorry, i used to get debilitating cramps around that age too. a warm compress around my uterus helped sometimes. the cramps stopped as i got older if that gives you any hope.

Lucky lol I got mine on my 13th birthday ! You had more years to enjoy :o but still sucks :/

I'm sorry. At least you aren't on your period on your wedding day.

First day of your period means the first day of your period. It does not mean that this is the first time ever she has gotten her period.

Are you people idiots? She's saying it's day one of her period today, not the first time she got hers ever. *sigh*

Ah. I feel lucky since I never get cramps...

If it makes you feel any better, this year i turned 21, and found out I was pregnant. 8 months later, I'm still waiting for my first (legal) alcohol.

Try Aspaco for the pain if you can find it in your country. Its strong as hell (I'm the type who is immune or highly resistant to most of the pain killers and anaestethics out there-I usually need 4 doses just for a cavity- so I tested it on myself. Works every time and the pain doesn't come back the rest of that period! ) and it has absolutely no side effects. Or at least look it up and try to find something with similar ingredients. To me, its the only thing that works since I don't want to try birth control to treat the agonizing cramps
