Steady on, son

By loveyouson - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - Denmark - Copenhagen

Today, my son got his first tooth, and is enthusiastically biting everything. I breastfeed. FML

Pump your milk and feed it to him through a bottle. The next time that little bastard is going to see ******* is if he buys dinner first, or dials up some Internet ****.

Time to get the little bitter some bottle service.

You've got to nip that in the bud! You don't want to get cauliflower nipple -- it ruin your husband's enjoyment of one of our favorite ladyparts!

My 9 month old has 8 teeth, and I'm still feeding him. If I'd stopped feeding when he got teeth, I'd have stopped at 3 months. Teeth does not equal ready for solids either by the way.

I take it away when my son does that. He gets mad for a few minutes but once he starts eating again he does a lot better

I usually say ow then no and put my daughter down. She is about to be one next month and still breast feed mix with solid food. If she bit hard I shove her head into my breast to get her to unlatch so she will not tear my nipple. She hasn't done it since :)... Also the WHO recommends to continue breastfeeding until the age of 2... Records show in other countries the weaning age is between 4-7. North America is the only country who finds breast feeding beyond the age of 1 or even 6 months disturbing because they sexualize breast than what breast is actually made for which is to feed our babies.

Who is this who that you speak of? Tell me now dammit!

Sorry I am use to putting WHO lol... Must be because I am around a lot of mommies who call them the WHO and they also put their website up like that...

Yeah I didn't know which "who" it was because I live in Whoville......

They are probably the site, check it out. Has some very interesting info :)

It's amazing how many people keep asking who WHO is. It's not like it's that hard to google it, you're already on the damn internet, quit being so lazy!

Really isn't hard to research WHO and Breast feeding. Whoops to my mistake before. I was on my phone and was in a rush since I had class tonight...

North America's a country? If that's the kind of information your source is giving, I question its validity.

Excuse me for a typo, United States is what I meant to say... Or America... NORTH AMERICA is a continent...

I apologize, I haven't quite learned how to express a joking attitude in comments. I didn't mean to upset you.

You did not upset. I made a mistake when typing and can't edit on my phone for some reason, it wouldn't allow me too. It happens though I guess.

Upset me* I cannot type worth a damn on a phone.

This made me grab my boobs with a horrified look rather similar to this ----> O.O *shudders*

"Pinch " the sides of his mouth to break the suction each time he bites, make him wait a minute or 2 then let him go back to it. Do it every time you get bit. It's what we teach the new moms I work with and the swear it works

Yehooooowwwwwww! Baby mouth guards? Invent one fast!

Teething rings or start pumping. Or my mom was not above a light smack to stop bad behavior.

I feel like a "light smack" is still a little too harsh. Babies don't know they're contributing to "bad behavior" when they're biting while eating. It's new to them and they have to learn not to bite in a responsible manner. Like pulling away and sternly saying NO. They start getting the idea what no means after 6+ months.

NEVER PULL AWAY! Your asking for a torn tit! Bf mother of 4, the only one that did not bite was #1 but our doc, pediatrician and bf clinic said push their head into your breast its their instinct to open their mouth!

I'm breastfeeding my daughter as I type and I can tell you that I feel your pain. She is teething but hasn't gotten any teeth yet... However, she is fond of the yank and pull method. It's almost like a competition to see how far she can go... I'm terrified of her getting teeth. What us poor women go through sometimes just to make sure we're giving the best for our babies.

My son does that. It's like a dog with a bone. He yanks and pulls, jerks his head side to side. Then screams when he comes off my nipple. I just tell him 'I didn't do it, you did, so stop screaming.'
