Ow
Ahhh. Gotta love the free healthcare :D
So true. Canada's healthcare might be free but its actually pretty bad and inefficient. Most of the good doctors leave to make more money in the states.
I had that done probably 6 months ago or more maybe close to a year ago and the thing they used to numb me barely worked. The doctor went for it anyways and was merciless, it hurt so bad I was shaking and holding tightly onto the chair. I know your pain OP, I hope you feel better soon <3
Happened to me and the doctor stuck the needle in my big toe about 4 times up and down side to side. Completely numb.
that can happen, the numbing medicine isn't infallible and some nerves are stubborn. just say it's not frozen or that hurt and they should give you more.
stuff cotton (as much as you can) under the ingrown toes nail. it will hurt when you are doing it but it saves a trip to the doctors and hurts a lot less than having it cut out. it has worked everytime I've had an ingrown toe nail.
I've had a similar experience. I was having my left foot worked on (I had severe bunions and so this surgery was to remove them and realign my foot) and during the entire surgery I felt him drilling into my feet and the saw too. I also felt him breaking my bones and let me tell you, weirdest sound and experience of my life. I was crying the whole time but because I was severely medicated I couldn't say anything but I felt everything. When I had my right foot done (and left had to be redone because foot was so bad) I requested to be completely put under during the surgery and best decision ever (besides deciding to get my feet fixed)
That sounds like a terrible doctor. They should always check to make sure you are comfortable and able to communicate if it's a local anesthetic. If they didn't do that, and didn't notice you were crying, that is really scary. Especially in a procedure where they are BREAKING bones! BTWI hear about hearing the bones break. That sound really does stick with you.
Actually he did a great job, but it was the anesthesiologist that was supposed to be watching me and he wasn't. I wasn't loud when I cried I think my body was so relaxed that I couldn't move a muscle so only tears fell from my eyes and I couldn't move anything to alert them. He was busy working away at my feet and with all the noise of the machines and instruments, I don't think anyone noticed me upset. But when it came to my first post op appointment I let him know what happened and he felt terrible. When my second surgery happened I had a different anesthesiologist and they put me completely under this time. I practically blinked and the surgery was over thankfully haha
I know the feeling! I have had at least 8 ingrown toenails on the same toe and for about half, I felt the whole thing. Hope you feel better, OP!
The same happend to me :( i know how you feel
This same exact thing has happened to me

Why didn't they make sure its was frozen? Sorry op must've hurt like hell.
I had that done a few years ago, both big toes at once. Hurt even after the meds kicked in. Sorry OP, that had to be a bitch. Get better soon!
