I've got to side with #22 and #45 here. He probably thought the girlfriend would be pissed if they had "started to mess around" and then he left her cold. The best friend likely just needed someone to comfort her for a minute or two. Everyone's assuming his girlfriend was going to passionately give him head while he stayed on the phone with this girl for an hour or two, trying to restrain himself from moaning. Please. It's more likely he would have talked to her for five minutes or so, then said he had to go, and his girlfriend would have started giving him a low-key handjob while he was on the phone, and then they would have picked u once he was off the phone. Look at other FML's: girls stick their hands in guys' pants all the time, even when they;e just sitting down and watching TV. I really don't think the guy is big an asshole as most people think.
