Sorry you had to get ankle surgery. If you have an office job or something, you should be able to return to work by Monday. I was down for a day and a half, so the weekend should be adequate time. If you have a manual labor job, do what everyone else has said, talk to a lawyer. I hope your ankle feels better.
Seriously though, its just your ankle... Man up sweetheart!
Well 35, maybe be had metal plates put in his ankle. That's a very, very painful experience. You've clearly not had surgery before. It depends on type and how PAINFUL it is. Not everyone has a high tolerance for pain like you apparently have.
In case you're too lazy and stupid to read, it clearly states that he had surgery on his ankle. So according to your logic, he's just suppose to "man up" and risk damaging his ankle further by putting more weight than he can handle on it? Just in case you didn't know, surgeons recommend recovery time after an operation for a reason. His boss has no reason to force him into work with the threat of termination for failing to show up, employers actually have to allow you time off for medical recovery.
On the down side, seeing as your job may actually be in jeopardy, You may actually have to be at work on Monday. On the up side, you boss did only say you had to be there, not actually work!
Hello fml users of the future! If you are wondering what day it is this fml was written, today is Friday. Have a nice day.
If it makes you feel better love, I'm in the same boat. Rest up and hope he's feeling generous Monday. If not, get a walking stick and 'accidentally' stand it on his feet a few times
Report them to your union.
I thought this said unicorn.

Hopefully he's joking. If not, sue for unfair dismissal.
That's illegal. Employers have to give you leave for things like surgery. There's a federal act that mandates it called FMLA. If he attempts to fire you over this, you can definitely get him in a lot of trouble.
