Do you have Aflack?
He should try and fire you. And then enjoy getting fired over wrongful dismissal.
As people have pointed out the obvious, this is unfair. Report this right away! Then munch on popcorn as your jerk boss gets fired.
Get a wheelchair. The FMLA doesn't apply to small companies and in other cases. Although it may be a dick move by the boss, he may be within his legal rights to can the OP. Maybe you can get one of those cool electric jobbies that fat and/or handicapped and/or lazy people plow through Wal*Mart in. Load up on Oxycontin before you attempt to operate one at work.
If your ankle wasn't so bad you should kick him in the balls.
I'd give fair warning and if he still said he fire you sue and get him fired or go with the wheelchair and when you see him run over his foot and innocently apologize all the while knowing he can't do anything since you are at work

Hopefully he's joking. If not, sue for unfair dismissal.
That's illegal. Employers have to give you leave for things like surgery. There's a federal act that mandates it called FMLA. If he attempts to fire you over this, you can definitely get him in a lot of trouble.
