OP, I hope you let her in the car, gave her some discipline and then didn't buy her the purse, maybe confiscated her other nice things you bought her that she clearly isn't grateful for, that should teach her to be content.

And DO NOT buy her anything! I know how it is to be 12 and envious of the "popular" crowd, but trust me, that isn't what life's about. Being popular is horribly overrated anyway. Some of those cliques are like cults, and not something you'd want your daughter mixed up in anyway. But seriously, please tell me you didn't give in to that kind of behavior.
