Taylor comes first

Today, I found out on Facebook that my supposed best friend bought a concert ticket to a show. The concert ticket cost the exact same amount as the plane ticket she told me she couldn't afford to come see me. FML

Maybe she didn't had money because she already bought this concert ticket...

Again, wow. All the negative posts above accusing the OP of being "selfish" and a "bitch" are why the world is in the horrible state it is in these days. Everyone relies on Facebook and other online social networking to have the illusion that they have more real friends than they actually do, so that when they screw one over, there are 5 more fake ones to take his/her place. The completely lack of understanding in most of these comments just screams immaturity. Damn people need to grow up and realize that PEOPLE are more important than concerts, or cars, or a new pair of shoes, etc. Get your priorities straight.

to #86 People are more important than material things but the concert could have meant a alot to her and her friend should have understood this She can still go visit her friend after the concert when she has more money

to #91: I do wonder why it is always the person getting screwed over that has to be the understanding one. :(

I see your point, but I don't think it's fair for you to decide what other people should prioritize. Everyone has different values, and who knows why OP's friend chose to go to the concert. I would make the same choice, seeing as how my favorite band has saved my life and seeing them live would mean the world to me. I obviously love my friends too, but I think that a real friend would understand why I'd make a choice like that. For OP to refuse to acknowledge their friends perspective here, they're basically saying that their own happiness is more important than their friend's. If OP isn't happy with their friend's choice, no one is forcing them to stay friends with that person.

If they bought the concert ticket first then fair play, can't complain.

This sounds like a lie. I highly doubt that your friend had a ticket to a concert that would cost the exact same amount as a plane ticket to see you. Stop lying you worthless piece of trash. It's people like you who make all the FML readers wonder if posts are true or not. By lying, you throw every FML post into question. The possibility that an FML post is a lie makes it so much less funny. Think about that next time you think of a hilarious circumstance and decide it has to be on FML. Make a cartoon or something but don't lie on a site where honest people are confessing just how terrible their lives are.

Why don't YOU cough up the dough, byotch?

How much did that frickin concert ticket cost!?!? I don't think I believe this. I have never seen so much fault in an FML. Maybe I'm wrong though. But gosh. A plane ticket costs major money and I may mistaken, but isn't the average price of a concert ticket much less than that of a plane ticket? And what? Did you investigate? "Oh she bought a _____ ticket... hmm. Lets check the price of that ticket. And lets then check the price of a plane ticket to come see me! BA HUMBUG! THEY'RE THE SAME AMOUNT!!" That's insulting.

So you were going to pay for all their food and entertainment costs while they were there?

So what if she bought that concert ticket before you asked?? And now she can't afford the plane ticket because of that reason? and what concert are you going to where it costs as much as a plane ticket? I hate fake stories. I submited real ones and they get rejected

Talk. To. Her. Sounds like you don't have the full story, about the concert or the trip out there. Don't be a bitch and assume things. Maybe she found a great deal on the concert tix. Maybe she can't afford days of dining out, partying, splitting gas, etc. Freezing her out or being silently pissed at her is a definite passive-aggressive bitch move. Suck it up and confront her.
