Tetchy

Today, my extremely religious father visited for a family dinner. My daughter had just one job: not to set him off on one of his easily-provoked rants. She nonetheless decided to take a photo in the middle of prayer, because she just HAD to Instagram her food. My father went apeshit. FML

Who cares what food she is eating? She should have been spending quality time with your family and not whipped out her phone. Sorry but she deserved it, you didn't. FYL

Seriously..? This is why I don't have Instagram, I don't give a crap what food pre-teens are eating or what their cat looks like.. That's just disrespectful any way, whether he was praying or just talking to her, that's her grandfather.

I don't really see why he freaked out when it takes less than a second to snap a picture.

Your sister was wrong for instagramming during prayer

Can't blame her, seeing as prayer is one of the most useless activities ever.

Why would someone Instagram food? That seems very odd.

Do you remember when you used to have to take a picture of your dinner with a disposable camera, then go get the film developed, and then go around to your friends/acquaintances houses to show them said pictures? Yeah, me neither. That's basically Instagram.

Kids and their damn technology these days. Sickening.

She probably wanted to capture the steam rising from the food because god forbid anything be more artsy

I'm sorry, but I don't feel that enough emphasis can be put on the fact that your daughter could not wait one or two darn minutes to take a shot of her plate while someone was making a deeply spiritual and (at least to them) hugely important speech. Seriously. I'm not even that worried about the instagram in and of itself, just the fact that she was so disrespectful that she wouldn't even wait one freakin minute to take the darn photo as to not disrupt someone's religious practices. Now, as for your father. I agree with #50. The point of religion is that it's supposed to help make you a better person, not shout at other people who don't follow your views exactly. Both were wrong.

Sucks you have a dad with a stick up his ass and a stupid daughter.
