I don't think I've ever attended a machine shop safety lecture that didn't include lots and lots of warnings about loose clothing and long hair. Maybe next time you'll pay attention. You have no idea how lightly you got off. Last year, a local high school girl had her scalp and face ripped off after getting her hair caught in a metal lathe. Just think about that for a while.
And this is why you always put your hair in a pony tail before working with machines. They even make you do this in chem classes. In one of ours, a girls hair caught on fire when she leaned over and there was so much product in it it all went up like a roman candle and she was bald. YDI for no common sense. But at least you can cover up a bald spot

well this is a big ydi that's one of the first rules of operating power tools besides not usig it around water
