YDI for having a mother. YDI for having a father. YDI for not following #2's advice.
it looks like the OP's parents... *puts on sunglasses* didn't throw out the trash. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
You're free. Turn your back and live your own life now.
That sucks, but I guess you get the truth for asking, so gotta say YDI for putting them in the situation where they had to tell you that.
Anyone comforting the op with assurances that her parents love her deep down doesn't know what they're talking about. There are plenty of parents who DO NOT love their offspring--my own parents being prime examples. OP: Get the hell out as soon as you can. I was lucky & was kicked out at 15 & emancipated at 16. As hard as things were for me it was the best thing that could've happened to me. Your true family are those you choose to share your life with.
Boo hoo, you had a hard childhood. That's nice, but what does that have to do with this post? The OP asked why her parents had her, expecting some glorified tale full of daisies and unicorns. What she got was hard reality that parents have kids for many different (sometimes selfish) reasons. Whether or not she's loved is completely separate. Some parents plan for kids and want them, but then don't properly love them once they're no longer fun to play with. Other parents get a 'surprise' but then show the child more love and affection than they could ever ask for.
48, what does it have to do with the post? Did you even read it before you went off on your cold, ignorant, baseless tirade? Reading comprehension fail. Compassion über fail.
^ Agreed. The post wasn't even directed at the op. bigred was addressing the other commenters. Such debates are common in FML comments.
I can read very well thank you. The "Get the hell out as soon as you can" screams of *assuming* that the OP *isn't* loved, where no where does it mention that that's how her parents are. That's not baseless? Yes, the first part was in reply to the rest of the commenters, but the second part wasn't. As for the part addressed to the other commentrs, where is the horde of people that were trying to comfort the OP that her parents still loved her? I read one, the rest said either that her parents hated her or that she's an idiot for asking. Anyways I was mostly concentrating on the second part.
combo breaker waffle is combo breaking the argument.
That's really terrible, but you were searching for the answer to your question. I guarantee your parents still love you though. They just don't show it well.
Oh. Bull. Shit. Don't jack the OP around with lying crap like "YourParentsLoveYouTheyJustDon'tKnowHowToShowIt". Way to give a person a warped idea of "love". "Oh! Love means they abuse or ignore me!!! Dandy! I think I'll go seek this out in my future relationships!" Actually, OP's parents did her a favor by being straight with her. Now she knows it's not her, and it's not love, they're just jackasses. She can seek better for herself.
love you too mom and dad! nice parents
lmao

It's only a waste if you waste your life. So go out there and make your own life. Stop turning towards mommy and daddy for validation of your self worth!
What wonderful parents you have. You were kind of fishing for a shitty answer.
