Thanks mom

Today, my mom called while I was at a job interview. I ignored the call, but the interviewer was so offended by the fact I'd rudely left it on at all, that he threw me out. I found out from my mom later that she'd called to wish me good luck. FML

It should have been on silent but the interviewer still should have been more understanding...and who would actually want to work for someone who overreacts like that anyways

Well now you know for next time i guess. My mom usually does the same thing -_-

You left your phone on during an interview? Are you stupid?

Always keep your phone off or at least on silent for an interview. I'd throw someone out too.

Major YDI. Sorry but in a competitive job market with dozens or hundreds of applicants per job leaving a phone on is not only irresponsible but rude to the interviewer as well. My rule of thumb is to always shut it off before I enter the building and not turn it on again until I am out the door. That way there is no chance of my phone interrupting any part of the interview.

I don't understand how you could let that happen. always turn your phone OFF before something like that. I don't blame the employer for kicking you out. Idea

YDI for not turning off or at least silencing your phone

I cannot imagine why you wouldn't turn your phone off during a job interview.
