I don't see the problem here. He admitted that he likes you all the time, even at your lowest. Even though you think you look bad, either he doesn't or it doesn't matter to him. Either way, you win.

He likely wasn't serious. He was probably just annoyed because you were hoping for a compliment. He's with you, so he obviously finds you attractive. Don't be so insecure. Learn to recognize sarcasm.

Most likely not what he meant! He probably tried to say something like you don't look like shit, you look the way you always do. Guys tend to not be able to communicate that sort of thing well in situations like this.
