While it would be nice, your parents are not obligated to fund your college education. You will be an adult by then and capable of paying it. Working thru college, grants, loans...etc

To the people who keep saying that there was probably not much money to start with because flying a cat to LA doesn't cost that much, did it occur to any of you that this cat probably didn't go on its own and OP's parents flew with him? They probably spent a lot of money on accomodations, food and stuff while in LA. And we don't know what age is OP, maybe that was the start of his funds. Either way blowing money for such a ridiculous reason is downright stupid. Kid's education should be a top priority in a parent's life. OP's parents are as dumb as the Toddlers and Tiaras moms.

I think the cat is worth more to the fam than the kid. Sad day!
