Thoughts and prayers

By wil - This FML is from back in 2015 but it's good stuff - United States - Nashville

Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because "God" told her to. I guess "God" didn't have any problems with me buying dinner first. FML

Steal some food out of house and tell her that 'God' told you to

Damn... Looks like "God" really has it in for you. Although, I think we all know it was probably Castiel or Metatron. My money is on Metatron. The plan is just about evil enough to fit his profile. Am I displaying my "nerd" too much? Yeah... Probably.

You and a lunatic broke up and all it cost you was dinner. Bargain.

It's obvious, she's cheating on you with God. Tell her to tell God to use a condom, nobody wants another Jesus disaster!

Thank " God" for making you single so you can find someone better.

Plot twist. The Devil made her do it.

now everyone should know that when someone uses religion as an excuse they dont believe in that religion. also if there was a god he probably wouldn't bother with us humans at all

What does you buying dinner have to do with anything? I hope you're no one of those guys who thinks women are obligated to sleep with you just because you pay for things. If so, maybe God is teaching you a lesson.

Where the **** did you get "he wanted sex" from this?? And I thought MY comments were asinine. The FML's that she used the relationship so he'd pay the bill, and only then dumped him, end of story. It must get tiring for you people to try SO HARD to manufacture reasons to attack the OP.

God sake, it's people like you that give feminists a bad name, you're not for equality you're an oppressor

I mean, technically, the bible says a believer should not be with a nonbeliever. If she's been growing lately and newly convicted, then she's just exercising her faith. If not... she really should have thought that one through. And if she's just using it as an excuse, then she's making a mockery of the all the heartfelt Christians who devote their lives to their cause. Regardless, I'm sorry for your hurt, OP.

@61, The Pauline Epistles do not forbid relationships with nonbelievers, though it is far from wrong to say they discourage them: while he does admonish people that they should be "equally yoked," and gives very strongly encouragement that people should marry within the faith, in Corinthians 7:12-14 he explicitly tells people not to cast off and divorce spouses of other faiths, unless their partner leaves the marriage first.
