Today, a co-worker asked me if I have a Facebook account, and I said I do. I had to politely smile as he spent the next half hour insulting me for supposedly being glued to it 24/7, before claiming that it's all a CIA front to steal people's social security details. Why are nutjobs like this even alive? FML

Although that guy is obviously taking it a little extreme, law enforcement agencies do however use people's social networking sites for info all the time. It gives you a heads up in the small print when you join.

only 1 department handles that info I believe. just like the census is only done by one agency and has the overall stats open to the rest of the government and public. so someone in the government definitely has access to your social security info, but for an outsider to get their hands on it requires special and real reasons to why the CIA would need your info, otherwise stealing your info would be easier for hackers and such if there were a dirty CIA member

As if the CIA couldn't get your Social Security details if they wanted them, they don't need Facebook, lol. Tell him Google is tracing his every search because they want to recruit him as a super spy, laugh & walk away!
