Today, a stray dog came up to my living room window. My pitbull went into attack mode and tried to jump through said window, while it was closed. Now I have to pay to replace the window, and pay to get stitches for my idiot dog. FML

Thats not true. Like all dogs, it depends on the training. My aunt has a pitbull and it's one of the sweetest dogs I've met.

A chuhuahua can be just as mentally vicious as a pitbull, in fact those little bitches will bite your toes off, but when they do it, it's cute. If a pitbull did the same thing, he's probably have to be put down. Double standards? Yes. And it's pretty damn obvious considering those loving canines are banned from the UK. It's time to unite and fight breedism, their time is now.

Hey, at least you are safe. That dog probably saved your life.

It's a shame when you have to explain your humor on a site that encourages just that. I used to enjoy FML so much more when people were not ripping each other new ones... Oh well, I remain ever hopeful, by my obvious returns.

I hate when people here assume since its a pitbull its a horrible dog, I have a pitbull rottweiler mix and he's so loving. Sure, they have the tendency to be more aggressive and are definitely strong dogs, but it depends on how they're trained. They have to be trained and raised well.

Poor pupster. He was protecting you. You may not see the similarities- but my uber territorial cat did the same thing. Luckily He only tore through the screen, not a glass window. My cat only got a few scrapes, and a mouthful of fur from the other cat.

Did you teach your dog to/when to go into attack mode. They don't just do it to do it, either someone taught this dog to do it or it felt it needed to protect its territory and those in it, out of basic instinct. If the dog wasn't taught to do it, then it felt threatened - much like a person who gets defensive 'over nothing'. There's a reason they do it and its not because they're idiots, nor is your dog unless its learned to be that way from its owner. Js

Sorry to make the comment over and over again, but dogs are territorial by nature. It's not something you breed into them! I'm pulling my hair out here!

That's horrible. Pitts are so cute though.

Sucks that pits are all brawn and no brains. But look at it this way. No need for the brinks home security system now.

I have a pitbull myself. While she doesn't go into "attack" mode she does go into "OMG I HAVE TO PLAY WITH YOU AND LOVE YOU" mode. She is by no means a delicate dog, and she would gladly go through a window if she though she could get a belly-rub. Blood? No problem, after all, she can lick someone. It is ridiculous the things they ignore when something catches their attention. Add a skull harder than brick and a body made a muscle, muscle and some more muscle to that and you have a recipe for disaster.

People say it's the owners fault but it may not be. I have a Pitt and he went to a class to be trained for two years. He is so well behaved and only get excited around other dogs. My dog has done the same before.
