Well they do say that most dog owners & their pets look/act alike. I voted YDI for you being stupid enough to own one of the stupidest dogs in the world..a pit bull is no more supposed to be a pet than a crocodile or lion...I've had one before (well trained in fact)...their own stupidity wins more often than their training does.
I love pitbulls, and as a pitbull owner I feel that you have failed the breed and yourself. So f your l
That is what you get for owning a pitbull.
Seeing eye dog of the year goes to... (Drumroll..)
Don't know how to work replies here since I don't usually comment much, but hey, I love pitbulls, being in a huge family in a hgue house full of pitbull lovers, we have about 9 pitbulls including the newest pups, along with several other mixed breeds, but pitbulls are the loveliest dogs ever. Pitbulls don't really hurt anyone, they just don't know their own strength, as all dogs. But yet pitbulls were originally breed to be guard dogs to guard the family, then some idiot decided it would be nice to make them into mean fighting dogs... ...hence why I really hate the dog fights, it's why the pitbulls have such bad reputation...oh and bad breeding and training. Pitbulls aren't beginner dogs, I know, they seem cool, but you need experience before taking on one as a pet, this goes for any dogs, if you cannot take care of one, then don't bother. It's jsut people right now are so sensitive, I mean, a children get hurt by a dog? Yeah, sure, blame it being a pitbull...and yet, you should nt have a pitbull if you cannot properly train and care for them. Most people also don't consider that it might be their 'precious child' who irritated the dog...I mean, children don't understand how to handle dogs, they can poke the dog, pull their tails, and geez, if the dog gets annoyed about it, I know I will too. Really, having children and a big dog is not the best combination at times really, but if your dog and children are well trained, then they can get along fine, but most people think training their dog the basics is okay then leaving it at there, they forget to go deeper in, might be cause they figured it is unnecessary, or unneeded, which is really dumb... Also, can we stop the labeling? I am sure you won't call a golden retriever evil, or a chihuahua evil, there isn't such thing is mean or evil dogs really, it all goes down to how well they are trained, A golden retriever can bite too, and oh, if you don't know already, small dogs have the WORST tendency to bite than bigger dogs, and yet very one wants a small dog cause you can dress them up and make them look oh so cute...blah...not a fan of dressing up dogs here... But overall, seriously, stop blaming the pitbulls, if you insist on blaming someone,m don't blame the dog breed, blame the dog fights or the owner... And here s a quick recommendation, take a special test they have on websites before buying a dog, NEVER buy a dog because it is 'cool'...that can be your undoing, and do nt get a dog that is too big for your house. Also, please, adopt at an animal shelter, don't buy from pet stores, their abandoned animals need you.
You shouldn't be allowed to type this much on FML.
Aw, I love pits. I'm sure your dog was merely excited and tried to say hi. Pits are aggressively playful - at least the ones I've been around. I have a papillon, which is small toy breed, and he loves big dogs, but unfortunately the pits by my house are too large and friendly. Pits are gentle giants. So lovingly friendly, but they're big dogs and often, their playfulness is taken for aggression. It's sad that all it took was a few pricks to abuse a breed and suddenly people are SHOCKED when the breed exhibits aggressive behavior. Think of a pit like an abused child: an abused child would most likely be psychologically scarred and lash out. No one ever criticizes the child but the abuser. A dog breed is no different.
Piitbulls are the NICEST dogs you'll ever meet....Till they kill someone... And whenever they do kill someone its always "they never did anything like this before" ...well..DUH?!

Thats not true. Like all dogs, it depends on the training. My aunt has a pitbull and it's one of the sweetest dogs I've met.
A chuhuahua can be just as mentally vicious as a pitbull, in fact those little bitches will bite your toes off, but when they do it, it's cute. If a pitbull did the same thing, he's probably have to be put down. Double standards? Yes. And it's pretty damn obvious considering those loving canines are banned from the UK. It's time to unite and fight breedism, their time is now.
