Today, a woman asked why my daughter doesn't look remotely like me. I just smiled and shrugged it off, but the truth is that she looks exactly like I did before I got my botched plastic surgery. FML

Things like this are perfect examples of why I can never support plastic surgery. Unless it's some form of reconstructive surgery to fix something due to an accident/the like, why do it? Work with what you have and be proud of who you are - people very rarely look better after plastic surgery.

It really depends on the type of surgery. For instance, breast reductions have a high success rate. It's how they feel about themselves that really counts.

Why is everyone so against plastic surgery? If someone wants it that's their business.

Who asks questions like that? How does she know your daughter isn't adopted or your step child? People need to think before they speak or suffer for their words.

#45 Because some people are idiots and think they (should) have a say in other people's lifes and be shitheads. Just like you have people commenting to women "Why aren't you pregnant yet?/When will you be pregnant already"? People should learn to mind their own damn business.

I have to say Ydi for getting plastic surgery done. Let's hope your daughter learned a lesson.

People get plastic surgery bc they are insecure about something. Sad she didn't wait longer bc I'm sure now she sees her child as beautiful. I love looking like my mom.

And the lesson here is research your doctor before you get any kind of surgery, even more so with cosmetic surgery.

I think it's funny the people telling her she deserves it for getting surgery and not loving herself the way she is also have no problem with tattoos.

Well, plastic surgery is usually - not always - a response to society's warps views on beauty and body image. Tattoos are intended to be about self expression and art. There are, of course, botched tattoos, but I'd blame the client for those too, as well as the tattooer. You get what you pay for.

i think 45 said it all. there could have been a number of reasons why they did not look a like. ie step daughter, adopted, looks like dad, plastic surgery...
