Time to start cutting your own hair if you're that cheap (or poor). I paid 30 euros for a basic haircut today - that's about $40 US or Canadian.
Even if you pay that much because apparently that's the normal price where you live, it doesn't mean that it's the normal price in Canada. Maybe it's 15$ or something? I pay about 20€, max 25, and then it's more expensive for me since I'm a girl. There's no need for you to call them cheap when you clearly don't know much about the world.
It really does depend on where you live, who you go to, etc. If I decided to get a cut, wash and highlights that costs me $105. If I do just a cut, it costs me $60. My boyfriend started shaving his own head after our stylist started charging him $35 for a shave / cut. There are cheaper places around my town but the problem is you get the quality you pay for since most of these cheaper places have inexperienced fresh out of school hairdresser students. I know other towns, cities, etc can be different and that isn't always true but that's not the case here. I tried them before and I will never go back, even if the cut was only $15. My head looked like a mop. :/
Yeah this whole thing is weird to me, where I live, which is a small town, I have to pay €40, and I'm a male with short hair. That's as cheap as it goes. In a city it's like €20 and I imagine that major cities have it even cheaper. But once again, you pay for quality. As days go by I realize more and more that north america is a cheap-ass place to live.
I wouldn't pay someone $25 to cut my lawn... let alone my hair! When I was a kid a haircut cost $5. If you wanted to get a little flashier with your wig you paid $10. Inflation's a bitch!
Laughs hysterically Where I am it's like 75. And that's not counting effing blow dry and foils which being it up to... Wait for it... 300

I'd never thought of leaving a negative tip for a shitty haircut, but that's a good idea! I once tried to leave an imaginary tip, but a waitress with no knowledge of complex numbers kneed me in the nuts. . . i, i, i!
It really sucks when we fail at trying to sound cool.
Lol da best
I recently moved from Texas to California. Haircuts have gone from $6-$12 up to $25-$30. "Normal" tips have gone from $1 up to 20% (which would now be $5-$6). My hair doesn't look any better. I feel your pain, OP.
Wow, I forgot basic haircuts could cost that much. The places I go are usually around $10 (female cut; my brother's were always $8 or so). Then again, around here the instant you want anything more then a shampoo and cut (averages $25-$30), you're looking at $60 minimum anywhere. Always a good plan to double check before they start cutting though. That many sharp objects and chemicals in one place can make for a nasty party.
