Maybe if you explained the situation to your boss?
if she was being that big of a bitch, she's on her period, I would tell her to go swim in a shark tank.
Well that's offensive to your own gender. You look old enough to have your period. So you should know how much pain we go through. We have every right to be a bitch. And people can be bitches without their period to help. Your comment was douchey.
Your comment is also "douchey" as well. The monthly pains suck, I get that. To state that women have a good enough reason on the right to be a bitch because of that time is unacceptable. Just because you're having a bad day does not give you the right to ruin someone else's and believe it's ok because "i'm on my period, deal with it" type attitude that you portrayed in your comment. Yes, you're right - people can be bitchy when they don't have periods or are not on it but that still doesn't make it acceptable for you to act like an asshole to another person for no reason or give a poor excuse like being on your rag. That's how your comment comes across to me when I had read it and I hope that's not what you intended. >.
You have every right to be a bitch? What kind of lame shit is that.
Did you contact your manager and inform them that someone would be working your shift? It sucks they backed out, OP.
Some people just don't appreciate hard workers these days :(
I'd be appealing that!! what a cow!
you should have told your boss first that someones gonna cover for you before not showing to work!
I agree with #22. ALWAYS get it okay-ed with your supervisor when switching shifts first. I do it frequently and have had no problems.
Turned out she was joking?? Nope. Turned out she is a witch!
Were you within the first three months still?... Cause if not and they didn't contact you, that's against most (not all) workplace rights. I'd check up on it if I were you.

What an unfair co worker and boss. Hope you find a better job op!
That's why where I worked, we always had to let our boss know when the shifts were changed.
