1) You should have checked the car first 2) You should have kept a spare set of keys. YDI.
This happened to me a few weeks ago. I went to Walmart and I had left the keys in the ignition as well. I thought I had dropped them in the store, and walked around the store several times looking for them. When I found them my only option was to call the towing guy to get my car opened. He took a minute to open my car and the fee was $45. Lesson always check you have your keys before leaving the car.
What a dumbass lol.
That's ALWAYS the1st place to check
At least you saved money on gas that week :)
Spare keys are 99 cents at Home Depot and Lowe's- maybe $1.40 last time I went. I keep one in the lining of my coat, and another in my wallet.
right where they belong

Didn't you consider checking in your car to begin with? Sorry for the week long nuisance OP, but YDI.
At least your car wasn't stolen.
