Hopefully, if you we're to lose your keys again OP, your family will put an effort in helping you look for them now that they know you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to looking for something. I imagine the wife must also feel kind of ridiculous having taken your word for it for so long. You are going to hear it for days. Good luck with that.

Wow, really? If I can't find my keys one of the first places I look is the ignition to make sure I didn't lock them inside the car. Even if that's not one of your first ideas, it should have crossed your mind before an entire week passed.
