A shitty guy hired a shitty guy
This sort of happened to me TWICE within a couple of years, while at the same job. At least in both cases, I had accepted the offer but hadn't yet given my notice at my current job. Within a couple of days of accepting it, the guy who hired me was fired, and I was able to continue on as if nothing had happened. So weird.
