You should tell your daughter this story when she is 14. Then sit her down, look away, and tell her that she was really born a male. "Honey, the circumcision went wrong and we had the choice to make you a female. I hope this doesn't change how you feel about yourself, you will always be our child--son or daughter."

Sorry to be a downer, but there's actually a novel written about the real life experience of a man who had this happened to him. It caused terrible feelings of confusion an loathing in him when he got older, and he ended up commiting suicide. Can't remember the name, but you could probably Google it
